Yogurt and cocoa cake with chocolate chips: soft and delicious, is a perfect comfort food for the first autumn evening!
This was the cake I prepared to welcome back Ludovica after the first day of school: do you remember ? I told about it some days ago on my Instagram!
So here I am today to share the recipe, very simple and fast: I’m sure will tear a smile and a “Thank you mom!” even to your little ones!

The Yogurt and cocoa cake with chocolate chips is soft and moist, BUTTER FREE and with a caramel aftertaste given by the brown sugar that makes it even more special!
The recipe is BABY-PROOF and, most of all, it is an excellent way to overcome with joy the first rainy post-school afternoons: the “muffin method” in this is always the best!
I had a cocoa yogurt to use and I though it was suitable for this recipe, but if you don’t have it you can easily use a white yogurt or another one you hink goes well with cocoa and chocolate chips!

YOGURT AND COCOA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Attrezzature
- baking pan 22 cm
Ingredients
- 320 g flour
- 30 g bitter cocoa
- 150 g brown sugar
- 12 g baking powder
- 95 g chocolate chips
- 250 g cocoa yogurt (read notes at the end of recipe)
- 3 medium eggs
- 120 g quality seed oil
- vanilla
Instructions
- Turn on the oven at 200 ° C.
- Pour the flour, cocoa, sugar and baking powder into a bowl and mix with a spoon.
- Separately, pour the yogurt, eggs, oil and vanilla into another bowl: mix with a fork.
- Now pour this liquid mixture into the first bowl and mix quickly.
- Also add the chocolate chips and stir: the mixture must remain lumpy.
- Grease and flour a 22 cm cake pan, pour in the mixture and bake for 35 minutes. The toothpick test is needed!
Notes
- If you can’t find cocoa yogurt, you can also use white yogurt or, to give a stronger taste, coffee yogurt!
