About Me

WHO I AM

→ I am for the “fast and easy” cooking, for the respect of the seasons and the optimization of resources aimed at zero-waste cooking.

→ I am for the traditional recipes revisited with originality, for floured hands and the artisanal cooking.

→ I am for simplicity, because it is only from here that you can develop your imagination.

I am Elena, an happy expat from Milan to Barcelona, I am 39 years old, I have a wonderful husband and 2 doughters (aged 6 and 3) who have a smile in their eyes and are my flagship!

MY BLOG

Born in the April 2008 as a personal recipe archive, during the years the blog has taken on a new maturity and awareness that has led it to grow and become a space of sharing and discussion, of work and opportunities.

Today ConUnPocoDiZucchero.it presents itself as a container of over 900 original recipes based on practicability.

My motto is recycling scraps and for this reason I have dedicated at this theme a special section of the blog.

But a motto is never one-sided: in my case it is not only the substance of my attitude in the kitchen, but also of my attitude to life.

I firmly think that what we have to try every day to enhance what we have, because tomorrow maybe it will no longer be there and if it still exists it will still be different from how it is today.

Only you can now see it in a new light.

And something new can always be an opportunit.

WHERE I LIVE?

Until November 2017, unfortunately or fortunately, I lived in Milan. Now, however, I live in Barcelona: a significant change of perspective!

WHO DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHS?

I do! With my old but trusty Nikon D60 who, poor one, is always full of butter and flour!

WHERE DO ALL THESE RECIPES COME FROM?

Most of the recipes come from my mind, from my imagination and from my inspiration of the moment.

I owe a lot to my family tradition, to my childhood memories, to collaborations with different chefs, to reading newspapers and gastronomic magazines and also to the comparison with other bloggers.

CAN YOU FIND MY RECIPES SOMEWHERE ELSE?

Of course! From the first months of 2022 I started an intense collaboration with Ricetta.it for which I make every months lots of recipes with step by step photos: don’t miss them!

Until last year, I collaborated with the Magazine Accendi Luce e Gas Coop, for the eco friendly section recipes.

In the past I collaborated for several years with UnaDonna.it as editor of recipes, articles, photo tutorials and quizzes on food and nutrition.

I also collaborated on a monthly basis with an online magazine in the Varese area and joyfully donated some recipes to the cooking section of Segnali di fumo, the human rights magazine of Amnesty International.

HOW WAS MY BLOG BORN?

My conunpocodizucchero.it was born in 2008 as an archive of all those recipes that, written on leaflets and notepads, were risking extinction!

So, starting from here, I said to myself that perhaps this collection could be useful not only for me, so I started sharing with my readers ideas, recipes, advices and…. and here we are now, in this space of mine which is a bit like my home and the truest and most sincere image of me.

WHAT STUDIES HAVE I DONE?

I have a socio-psycho-pedagogical high school diploma, a degree in Social Work and a master’s degree in “Responsible students in modern catering”.

WHAT I LIKE?

I like have floured hands, the shortcrust pastry, use fruit in savory dishes, sprinkling cinnamon over my home made cappuccino every morning, having breakfast with fresh bread, eating pumpkin with peel, reinventing a whole dinner with leftovers of the previuos day, cleaning the pomegranates, having purple hands after picking blueberries, cleaning the honey jar with my fingers, riding a bicycle, the real Neapolitan pizza, knead biscuits while it’s snowing outside, dark chocolate.

But more than anything else I like my husband’s smile when he tastes one of my culinary experiments and cook under the watchful gaze of my girls!
