Chocolate lollipops with smarties: that’s to say the super easy carnival recipe (for children and not) of those who married the mood and the hashtag #friedfreecarnival
Carnival is near and, as always, the desire to celebrate it is not lacking!
But I am not at all a lover of fried desserts! I know, I’m a bit sui generis in this, but the classic fritters are not my ideal type of dessert!
That’s why on my blog the only Carnival fried recipe dates back to 2009 when, thinking about my chidhood Carnivals, I remembered that my grandmother Carmela’s fritters were one of the symbol of that festive days and, together with my Alessandro (dressed up with an adorable red apron) I prepared churros and apple and banana fritters!
However you know that I certainly do not miss the opportunities to mess around in the kitchen with my two girls! 🙂
So here I am to propose you these super simple, super easy, super fast Carnival lollipops with chocolate and smarties!
Only 2 ingredients and 10 minutes of your time to get them ready!
I told you about them on Instagram last year, when I showed you my Ludovica preparing them for you! Do you remember?
Since I hadn’t published the recipe, I do it now through her smile, trough that sincere expression of happiness that painted her face exactly 1 year ago.
And here, with her photograph, well… we don’t need more words.

CARNIVAL LOLLIPOPS WITH CHOCOLATE AND SMARTIES
Ingredients
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 1 pack of smarties
Instructions
- Chop the chocolate, then melt it in a water bath (or in the microwave for 1 minute at 800 W) getting a smooth cream.
- Form your lollipops directly on a sheet of baking paper, spreading a spoonful of chocolate into a circle.
- Insert a lollipop stick in the middle of the circle and top it off with some smarties.
- Put the lollipops in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Your carnival lollipops with chocolate and smarties are ready!
Notes
- You can make the shapes you want: in addition to the very simple and classic circles, you can form hearts or stars. In this case you will have to draw the outline of the chosen shape on the sheet of baking paper, then turn it upside down and fill the drawing with melted chocolate inserted in a pastry bag.
- Lollipops can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 days.
